I took a quick break from working at the store to share this DIY with all of you! Seriously when I say quick break I’m not even kidding. It took me less than an hour to install this Smart Tile Backsplash and it looks AMAZING! Here are a few photos of the finished project. You can see the full tutorial from blank canvas to totally tiled on The Home Depot blog by clicking here.
When The Home Depot first asked me to try Smart Tiles I was excited but also a little skeptical. You know as a renter I am all about finding new ideas to make my house feel more like a home BUT I also don’t want like the look of anything “fake”. When that box arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the sheets of tile. The faux grout lines looked like real grout and the coloring of the vinyl looked just like ceramic tile! I used the Milano Sasso design. Learn more about it here.
The lightweight sheets are all pre cut and fit together like puzzle pieces. This is a no brainer of a DIY project and those are my favorite kind! I don’t mind getting messy during a good DIY but sometimes a girl just wants to get instant results without dragging out all the tools and cleaning supplies. I know you totally understand!
You can use these in any room of the house because they are resistant to stove top heat and bathroom humidity. You can add a smaller Smart Tile backsplash in just a few minutes or finish a larger wall like I did in less than an hour. The sheets already have the adhesive on the back so you just peel and stick……and repeat.
The Smart Tiles completely changed this space and even better I know my townhouse doesn’t look the same as all the others now. The before picture is a real snooze fest! Be sure to click here to see that photo and how easy it really was to ass this Smart Tile Backsplash to our kitchen island.
Where would you add these tiles to your home? Let me know in the comments!
