The Big Finale
I know I said I was going to get Halloween up in here for the final week but life happened. Instead of digging out my skulls and spiders I worked on other projects and went to the pumpkin farm with my son. I had a great week but when it came time to write this post I panicked a little! What was I going to do? I walked through the house and couldn’t come up with anything to share with you guys! I was pretty bummed out until I looked over at this old, worn tool box I had sitting under my hutch. That’s when it hit me.
It’s technically not cheating….
I know we are supposed to use what we already have around the house to decorate our spaces. When I went to the pumpkin farm with the fam we loaded up our wheelbarrow with 89 pounds of pumpkins, squash and gourds! They were in the garage waiting to be washed and placed around the house. Lucky for me because this girl drew a blank for week four! I knew the second I walked past this vintage toolbox I could fill it with our pumpkin farm haul for some quick and easy Fall décor!
P.S. If you read the tiny print of the design challenge it says you cannot buy anything for the challenge. It doesn’t; say you cannot use something you previously bought for fun! 😉
Weathered wood and Fall colors
This old tool box is BIG! I didn’t have enough baby boos to fill it, even with the obscene amount we brought home. I had to think quick so I grabbed two cardboard boxes and set them inside the tool box. I covered them with a piece of scrap burlap fabric I had and then set the pumpkins and squash right on top of that. It really helped me get that overflowing feeling with the tool box. One of the larger pumpkins was placed inside a vintage crate I normally use to hold magazines. The weathered wood art on the island is perfect with that bright orange pumpkin!
I hope you all enjoyed watching this space change over the last four weeks! Although I drew a decorating blank this final week it was surprising to see what I could put together in such a short time!
